Why Choose a Personal Number Plate?

For many of us, our cars are our pride and joy. They’re an expression of our personality, chosen for a mixture of power, handling and design that signals who we are to the world around us as we move from home, to work and out to social engagements.

Almost everything about your car can be customised too, from your tyres up to your spoiler. Today, the car customisation scene is just about as big as it’s ever been. With a multitude of factory and aftermarket options available, it’s clear that, if you want it, you’ll never see another exact copy of your car on the road.

So, with an endless ocean of custom possibilities available, why let your number plate fade into the background?

Personalised number plates can be almost anything you want them to be, from versions of your name to references to your car, lifestyle or hobbies. A private number plate can transform your car and bring the fun back to driving, but what are the main reasons for buying one? Let’s take a look.

Reveal your Creativity and Set Yourself Apart from the Pack

Personalised registration plates are the perfect canvas on which you can reveal your creativity without turning your car into a sideshow.

We’ve all seen the impact that spectacular paint jobs and large, aftermarket body kits can have, but there is an easier way to set yourself apart from the pack – with a personalised number plate.

Whether you’re running a car commonly found on the road or want to celebrate the uniqueness of your motor, personalised registration plates make for a terrific option. Even better? Because you can create any word or abbreviation you like, your car can say anything it likes.

Let Passers by Focus on the Car, Not the Age

Cars get old, that’s just a fact. However, not all cars age equally. Design classics might see the years tick by like every other car, but their statement lines and outright quality shines through the ages.

With a traditional number plate, all passers by will see is when your car came out. With a personalised number plate? They’ll see your car for what it truly is – a thing of beauty.

Make a Smart Investment

Number plates might not seem like a good investment on the face of it, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Because each plate is totally unique, the value of your plate will remain a constant – just as long as somebody wants it from you.

Cars with custom license plates specific to the model often fetch more at auction, so don’t view a personal number plate as an expense; view it as an investment.

Interior Auto Detailing – Vacuuming and Shampooing

The best way to keep your car nice and new looking is to do regular vacuuming and dusting of the interior. Although this is easy maintenance to do once or twice a month surface cleaning is not enough. You need to do interior auto detailing at least two or three times a year, especially the upholstery, to keep it really looking nice. This is something that you can do yourself but you can also take it and have it professionally done, which can cost hundreds of dollars.

This is an important part of interior auto detailing and all you need to do a great job is a good vacuum cleaner with attachments. Depending on how long it has been since you have vacuumed the car it should not take more than thirty minutes or less to do a thorough job. The two attachments that you will need are the dust brush and crevice attachment. The crevice attachment should be plastic and not metal and in good condition. If it is metal or not in good condition it could scratch or damage your leather or vinyl upholstery. The crevice attachment is used to reach under and between the seats and into the tight seams and around the seat belts. Use the dust brush tool for vacuuming the vents, dash, and console. To get into the vents and cracks deeply you can use an interior auto detailing brush.

Before you start to vacuum make sure that you take out the floor mats and shake them so any loose dirt comes off. Use the hose end with no attachment or the upholstery attachment to vacuum the mats. Make sure that you use the crevice tool for vacuuming around the seat tracks. The door panels can be vacuumed using the dust brush. Once done work on the other area, making sure that you vacuum the carpet around the brake and gas pedals.

When you start to shampoo your carpets and floor mats this can take two to three hours but before you can start, the areas must be completely vacuumed. If there are any heavily soiled areas, spray with a cleaner and let sit for at least 15 minutes before you scrub them. Spray the carpets and floor mats a little at time and use an upholstery brush to clean the carpets and mats, using a circular motion. Have a small bucket of water nearby so you can dip your brush into it but do not get the areas too wet. Rinse the carpet and mats using a damp terry cloth towel, making sure you rinse and wring out your towel often. Use the vacuum to get the rest of the cleaner out and let dry completely overnight.

The Best Tyres for Your Jeep

Jeep is known to be the king of four wheel drive vehicles. It has the capabilities of driving over the steepest rocks as well as battling the muddy and wet grounds without difficulty. This is all possible with the right tyres.

Off road tyres have specific features that make them the ultimate climbing tools. The treading is, of course, what gives the vehicle the grip to climb up on steep surfaces. The tread is also what allows liquid to pass through in case you are driving on a wet and muddy day.

The size of the tyre is everything. The bigger the tyre the more surface area it can cover and the more stable it is. Larger tyres also make driving a 4X4 vehicle much easier and more comfortable for the driver. Larger profiles are safer too. You won’t really find off road tyres with a narrow sidewall because they need to be tough and resilient. More volume within the tyre benefits the driver whilst climbing over rocks. Remember that you won’t always be facing a blunt surface but rather more protruding hills that will stab into the tyres. The air inside the tyre helps to protect the wheel which gives the car more bounce when driving over certain obstacles. It thus decreases the likelihood of a puncture due to the amount of pressure placed on them. Besides being useful to the whole outdoor experience, the large, wide, deep tread tyres also give the Jeep an aggressive modified look that is admired by many people.

So which brand of tyres will work best for a Jeep?

BF Goodrich has a reputation of being the strongest brand when it comes to outdoor or off road driving. The rubber has been specially engineered to handle water, dry surfaces and cracking stones.

Goodyear has various types of tyres that work well in any weather conditions and many types of terrain. They also have a reputation of being the highest performing tyres in different terrains and are a definite must have in terms of choosing tyres.
